About Celebration Christian Academy

Our story

T H E C E L E B R AT I O N CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

In 1992 the Celebration Christian Academy (CCA) began as Long Reach Church of God Christian Academy. Pastor Bob Davis had a long-standing desire to inoculate the children of the church with the Word of God. His vision was to prepare them to thrive in a fallen world without being overtaken by the schemes of satan. This vision became a reality in 1992 with the birth of the Long Reach Church of God Christian Academy. The Academy began as a pre-school, serving children three to five years of age. Pulling a new school together was no easy task. The core planning team worked diligently to ensure a solid foundation to build on. Hope Christian Academy in College Park, Maryland was one of many models used as a pattern. The National Capital Christian Education Conference, a Greater Washington Christian Education Association (GWCEA) annual training event for Christian educators in Silver Spring was another invaluable source of information. Pastor Bob sent Pastor Robbie and soon to be Pastor, Suzanne Haley, to this conference as they began assessing what it would take to establish a private Christian school in Columbia. Following the conference, Suzanne Haley rallied a team of key strategists who would help in laying a firm foundation upon which the Academy would grow Suzanne Haley, Dara Williams, Charles Owens, Jackie McCoy, Chisha Johnson, Sondra Jackson, Janice Lumpkin, and Denise Chandler were a part of that planning group. The school’s first principal was Pastor Darryl Blodget. He had been the acting Director of the Before and After School program. Stephanie Blodget was the school administrator. The first full-time teaching staff included Violet Randolph (K3), Deacon Willie Davis (K4), and Robin Davis (K5). Today Celebration Christian Academy is a preschool and elementary school serving children from pre-kindergarten (three years of age) through kindergarten.

our educational leadership

Good Education Starts From Great Educators

Our school has been an academic pillar in Howard County for over thirty years. Our preschool and elementary students have earned a reputation for being advanced once they matriculate into secondary & collegiate education.

Our first day of school is Tuesday September 3, 2024 (the day after labor day). Our curriculum is the faith-based Abeka model of academic training; however, after decades of proven pedagogical practice, we have enhanced the curriculum to strengthen the STEM emphasis and we have ensured that our students are culturally affirmed.
